240 Km / ± 17’000m
A 240 km expedition through the wilderness
An adventure that will leave its mark
The Scenic 240 was born out of requests from many runners looking for a demanding, innovative and spectacular course.
The idea behind creating this new route, without compromising the philosophy of the Scenic 500, was to retain as much of the original course as possible, simply adding an east–west connecting section.
The result is a journey through southern Switzerland’s valleys, mountain passes and ridgelines — a landscape with a thousand different faces, but one thing you certainly won't find: flat terrain.
Tracciato dalla natura, perfetto nella sua essenza più pura
The elevation profile speaks for itself. Nature drew this line; we simply followed it.
Those who take on the challenge will understand: there's nothing to add and nothing to take away.
It's already perfect just as it is — 240 km and 17,000 metres of elevation gain.
The Scenic 240 is a route of approximately 240 km with 17,000 metres of elevation gain, to be completed on foot along alpine and pre-alpine trails in southern Switzerland.
It is a self-supported challenge between checkpoints, with no direct external assistance, requiring strong self-management skills, endurance and adaptability.
The aim is to experience an adventure of exploration, self-discovery and respect for the mountain environment. Each participant undertakes the challenge at their own risk and responsibility, fully aware of the hazards associated with the natural mountain environment.
The Scenic 240 is a private sporting expedition, not a competitive race.
